I have had grape caulerpa in the past that have a tendency to crash out on me. I've just tried to remove all the grape caulerpa from my sump. Can Chaetmorpha filter the main tank by itself? Or should I find some saw blade caulerpa to boost up the filtration capacity?

Vinh - it can but grows slower than most caulerpas in my experience - I also had some grape / caulerpa racemosa crash on me a couple of months ago - I am trying some red algaes now along with the chaetomorpha in the sump - have you seen prolifera? That's supposed to be very easy to work with - they had somein at Aquatek today.

I use strictly cheato, it wont go sexualand under the right conditions, can be a fairly fast grower depending on available nutrients and lighting. When aged or matured, a chaeto stocked refugium, in my opinion, can lessen the need for a skimmer. I know mine does!

Mike,
Not sure, isn't Prolifera grass like, as pictured in your cube tank?

Pete,
You can get some from me too, but I can't afford to give out too much right now. Best bet is Jim Norris as he have the biggest regium.

I banish two of my large Mexican Turbo Grazer Snails in the sump. Do they eat Chaetmorpha?

Vinh - Prolifera is large bladeed with runners that attach along bottom - there is a good pic here:

I have 'manatee grass' I believe in my refugium - Syringiodium ? Does little for export as far as I can tell but ihave it established and have gotten a few new shoots which I'm happy about - When tank gets moved over to my 215 it will have a lot of the rock taken out so more sandbed for the grass to hopefully spread - am also going to beef up the lighting.
