can green stars become a problem?

I was just wondering if anybody has ever had a problem with thir green star polyps spreading too much and becoming a problem in their tank. I am not sure if they can harm oter corals but I'm thinking of removing some of mine because my tank is pretty small. Does anybody have any advice on how best to remove them, and if they can harm other corals.

I don't think they can hurt any other corals I have a recordia(sp?) growing right in the middle of mine and it's just fine, but if you don't want alot than I will take what you don't want ;)

No disrespect Dragon, but Green stars can be a huge problem. They are very prolific in some systems and can grow over most stoney corals smothering them. They will grow up gorgonia, and even up the sides of leathers. The good thing about them though is they are gorgeous in large patches, easily peeled off glass, and you can remove rocks with them growing on them before they cause a problem.

Tim you are right on the money....

In my 40 gallon tank the star polyp population is getting a little out of control. And is really beginning to hinder the growth of my other corals such as the zoos' and leathers. The encrusting polyps choke everything out and it has become a plague in the aquarium.
