I am looking into getting some new lighting. i have a 75 gal with hood. i currently have the coral life quad 65. i want to keep more reef stuff. i dont want to spend more than $300. I guess that is it, thanks.

I probably will have a double vho light system if you want to buy it. I have two vho's for it also.

so how many watts would that add?

Between the two that would be 190watts, they are 95watts per bulb.

I would suggest that you go to hellolights and look at the DIY kits for MH lighting. I think you can get a 250W ballast, unwired and with no box, and a socket/spider reflector for about $75. You need 2 of these, and get 2 iwasakis for another about $120 for both. that leaves you $30 to buy a couple of boxes and some wire at home depot, and you should be able to have a nice 2 X 250W set up for around $300. I don't know what the corallife quad you have is, but I'm assuming it's some sort of PC set up. You can use that for actinic support for the iwasakis. There is a PC actinic bulb out there, and it's not too bad. Not as nice as vhos, but perfectly functional and you already own the set up, you just need the bulbs.
