Hey everyone,

Well, the 22 pounds of live rock is in the 18g and I am having some more brought back from Florida tonight. I am currently having an Ammonia Spike which boosted to 1.5 mg's per liter. Bad, but not horrible, I guess. The question I have for you all is what would be the best way to entice the coraline to grow? I have two powerheads in it making some serious wave action. Should I dose the tank with calcium or other things? what do you all reccomend? Lights on, Lights off?. you all are the masters, not me.

Thanks again for everything!

Dont over do the lights at first you dont want undesirable algaes to out compete the coraline. Also Ive had good luck using predominantly actinic lighting for the first month or 2. If you have some spots with good coraline turn a powerhead on it. You could try scrubbing a coraline covered area with a toothbrush to help it spread.

A toothbrush is a great reef tool! Anyone that has been over here has probably noticed one or two laying around...LOL....

yes yes, I just scrubbed away at my good rocks. My father just went to Tampa Saltwater and bought about 25 more pounds of incredible rock he says, so between the powerheads and the new rock, I think I will be fine. I have heard wonderful things about B-Ionic, so I guess I will give that a try.

Thanks again!
