View Full Version : Future livestock orders?

Is anyone going to be doing a livestock order in the near future?

During my battle with the red planarians, I lost my favorite fish, my Midas Blenny. I miss watching him swim in and out of the live rock. I would like to get another one, but I was lucky to find the first one at a LFS in the first place! And even though I've been talking about it forever, I still want to get a fighting conch.

It's been awhile so I'm sure a few people might be interested in something. I know that Christmas probably has people watching their spending right now so I can wait awhile longer if needed.

Haven't heard from Ray in a while... where's Josh when you need him for another fish order? :P

You have too many fish? If you have anything you want to get rid of let me know, I might be interested. I can't get too much though, I just have the 58g and it's got a pair of perculas and a blue tang.

If you are attached to them, then I couldn't take them from you! :D

I think those guys would be too much for my tank anyways. Not enough room for two tangs and the wrasse would probably not have enough room to swim around. My original percula clown always acted wierd, either stayed at the top of the tank or the very bottom until I found a nice anemone. Took a few days for him to figure it out, but now he loves it.

I'll just wait until I can find another midas blenny. I also want to eventually replace the flame angel that I lost at the same time. Then I will be fine other than a few corals.

Thanks, Chris.

I know the problem. I have been trying to catch a midas blenny out of my corner tank for a month now. I have had it for about 7 months and am getting tired of it.

Tim - what's wrong with your Midas Blenny? I want to get a new one to replace the one I lost so if you don't want him any more, I'll be glad to take him off your hands. Unless you've been having problems with it of course. I loved mine, always in and out of the live rock like one of those wack-a-mole games!

Same here. I'd like to whack the little mole.... Actually it is a great little fish, but I have a yellow tang in there also and my wife wants a different fish so someone has to go.. The tank has a half moon angel, yellow tang and a pair of perculas. I think it is too many fish for a 90 gallon. Plus it is loaded with corals and everything else.

I am planning to get a couple of yellowhead jawfish here soon after the new year since no one seems to get them locally (austin). If anyone want's to piggyback on my order that would work. I have only ordered from marinedepot live and liveaquaria so far. Marine depot was top notch. Liveaquaria sent me a cleaning shrimp that must have jsut molted and had lost half his appendages and left out my serpent star. I had heard good things about them but after that I am probably going with marine depot again or may try that place from dallas , the marine center? They supposedly have very healthy livestock.

We are back to that topic again. You can get the same livestock from the guys here in town. Most livestock and rock is collected by a handful of collectors and then shipped to the wholesalers. The wholesalers then ship to the retailers, like marine depot. So why not get these guys like Joshua, Ray, or myself to order for you and save one stop for the livestock as well as get it a little cheaper....
Just my thought.
If you see something you like on the net more than likely it will be on our list. As well as a ton of other livestock you wouldn't think of.

Tim, thanks for the heads up on wholesalers. A few of the stores I have asked about ordering specific critters kind of blew me off or took my number and I never heard back from them. A certain store that will remain nameless has some of the sketchiest livestock I've seen in Austin and I wonder if they just get critters in to let them die. Gallery of Pets and Aquatek have both been great for advice/dry goods but their livestock moves so fast I never see anything interesting, but I also haven't asked them about special ordering anything yet. May give you a ring early next week if you are around or post some of the inverts/fish I am looking at short term and long term. If I can do business locally so much the better for me and the economy both (Lord knows Austin needs a kick in the butt to get moving again).

Regards,

Mike

From my trip to Austin the other week i'd assume you're talking about the store near Tim's place.... his favorite. :-D

But then again I didn't get to visit every store.

And welcome to the group Mike!

Well the store you don't want to name is actually in Cedar Park. I am not a store front though, just a hobbiest gone wild. If your up here drop by, I'll hold off on my order until I get your list.

Chris, thanks for the welcome.

Tim - I'll try and give you a call today before you place your coral order and see if you can find any of the things I may be looking for from your wholesaler.

Mike,
Ed told me that you're close by to him. Tim is just up the road, should be easy for you to get to.
