More talking guys!

So I'm planning on using a black background for the back of my tank. I'll probably go with a black paint.

What does everyone else use? Next time would you try something different?

I have used flat black paint, but you have to be careful cause it will flake off. I was wondering on acrylic if I can paint it instead of ordering it with the color on the back since it is a significant $$$ amt for the color.

I got the two sided blue/black background (got at Petsmart) as well. I use the black side as my overflow box is black and my returns are black lockline so they don't stand out much. The only advice I have is if you go with this kind of film background, be sure to tape it on really well. Put solid tape across the top in case any water drips/overflows the back it won't get between the film and the tank. If it does it will leave water/salt stains on it and can be seen from the front.

I have blue on one tank and black on another. I like the black much better.

I've seen this idea Ben is talking about! Great look and you can change colors if you so desire.

OOps I thought it was Ben He came up with an idea for using velcro to attatch it. It came out really nice.

I'll show you guys the best way to apply these stuff on later. And no, it does not involve tape or velcro.

Incidently, Oceanic use to sell their tank with the acrylic background, but for some reason they don't anymore. Some peoples were complaining of it breaking off. Probably too much warranty work for them.

Like I said before though Ben used some velcro to hold it on the corners. Looks really nice and he can take it off and on anytime he wants to.
