I guess you like the state of the country as it stands right now, the economy is great, gas prices are way low, and unemployment is at an alltime low. Oh, and let's nor forget about the war to find WMD, glad we found and destroyed all of those.
Of course that was probably the liberal media and Obama's fault too.
Actually, unemployment rates are still low when put in historical context, and not all that different from the Clinton administration. Gas is high, but compared with Europe, it's less than 1/2 here, than there. Economically, the country, again, on a historical basis, is more prosperous than not.
As far as the WMD, the Bush administration followed the guidelines set by Congress who, under the constitution, only has the authority to declare war. Congressional Democrats and Republicans both voted for giving Bush the authority (perhaps next time Congress with keep in mind separation of powers, and actually go read the documents available to them).
The question is, who, Obama or McCain, has the better stated policies to improve the economy, which is always for debate.
As far as the media being liberal, with the exception of Fox and most of talk radio, that leaves the remaining network and cable news stations, so yes, it clearly is.
You guys always have some sort of "but", "and if". the question is what is the state of the country right now. Not good. The economy is not good, I don't care what "history" you compare it to. Why don't you compare one vertical market alone, the housing market. I don't think anyone will be able to state that market is thriving. As far as the war, it wasn't the congress that went to america and the Un pleading the war case, it was Bush and his administration. Their premise was WMD, haven't seen any yet after how many years and deaths of American soldiers. Now, before anyone says "what have you done for your country, I enlisted and spent 4 years in the Marine Corps. As far as the media, they are all bottom feeders. they roast anyone and everyone.
Now, like Mark I'm done with this topic, this is a FISH and CORAL forum, not politics.
The economy has been called poor for most of this administration despite being almost identical to the Clinton administration. The economy is not poor and certainly not for those who can afford to keep saltwater fish. As far as the housing market, if one is foolish enough to buy more house than one can afford and in a manner they can't afford, that's a statement about how many foolish buyers there are, not the economy.
As far as the war, again, it's a fact, Congress and only Congress has the authority to declare war. They are just as complicit in this war as the Bush administration. We could not have one, without the other.
Oh great. Politics on a fish forum. I'm so out of here. Remove my account.
actually, no this isnt a fish & coral forum it is an off topic forum
The Lounge A place to hang out and discuss "Off Topic" subject matter.
there is nothing wrong with political threads as long as they dont get out of hand
