Before you do ANYTHING. Move your washer. Do you have a pile of shredded black rubber on the floor? The single largest repair on washers is for a rubber coupling that is a wear item. It's an easy DIY fix. Bout $20 in parts.

A bump to the top and hoping someone in S.A. can recommend someone as well. We just had our Whirlpool washer go out (stopped agitating/spinning and makes a loud noise). Of course the warranty ran out recently! lol

I called a repair man once and described the problem and he told to go buy another one. He said that they are not made to last a lifetime anymore, he called it a disposable washing machine. Maybe thats why the Maytag Repair Man is no more? Good luck maybe someone has an answer.

    Chris,

Have you checked the rubber coupling? Here's a link to a guide - it's really easy to do. This is, by far, the number 1 problem with washers, IT'S A WEAR ITEM and made to wear out: http://reviews.ebay.com/Whirlpool-Ke...00000000168777

If you figure it out, there is a place on Nakoma between 281 and West avenue that carries the parts. Sorry can't remember the name of it?

Well the fiance grew impatient and called a repair company to fix it before I got the above link. She got dinged $175 for what appears to be a $5 part that I could have installed. Lets say she wasn't too happy when I told her!
