Ok. Let me put all the info together and I will post it for you. I use to think it was PITA to decap, hatch, clean and enrich BBS. Now I do it when I am multi tasking, doing more important things like cleaning tanks, mixing salt, making water and cooking dinner. LOL

You got me wanting to try breeding fish now. I had planned on breeding my clowns but they were the first to go with the parasite infestation.

    Hatching Brine Shrimp

    Decapsulating Cysts

    Removes the outer shell
Aids in sterilization of the cycts
Provides a hatch that is almost clear of any shell material

    Technique

Add 6 cups of fresh water to a hatching cone
    http://florida-aqua-farms.com/shop/b...-hatch-rite-3/

Add the amount of cysts you need to the cone and soak them for 10 minutes

Aerate for a additional 50 minutes

Add 1 cup of unscented bleach to the cone and aerate

When they turn orange drain them off into a sieve

Rinse the cone and place the eggs back in the cone

Add fresh water and a chlorine blocker like Prime

Aerate the eggs for 1-2 minutes and test for chlorine to ensure there is none

Drain off the water and place the eggs in a hypersaline solution in a food storage container

Refrigerate until you need to use them

    Hatching

Fill the cone with fresh saltwater

Add the amount of cysts you want to hatch (will vary by the # of fry being fed

    Aerate for 24 hours

Add appx. 10 Oz of hydrogen perioxide to the cone and aerate for 1 -2 minutes

Turn off the aeration and let stand for about 3 minutes (this aids in separating the BBS from any that don't hatch

Place them in a clean container with aeration

    Enrichment & Feeding

Place the amount of live BBS in a cup of fresh SW and enrich for 12 hours
A 24 hour enrichment is better, however you need to move them to a new enrichment vessel after 12 hours

Move the amount you want to feed out to another container and treat them again with h2o2 for 5 minutes

Rinse in fresh water and feed them to the fry

This is what I use for my seahorses
