thanks Tony. I asked Reed Mariculture to hold my order so I don't have to worry about keepibng a live rotifer culture going until I plan to pull a clutch. After talking with KING he advised me to hold off for a bigger clutch. So...focusing on beefing the parent's nutrition up and doing some more researching to be as prepared as possbile. The first clutch was a bust (don't think the male fertilized the eggs).. and I may sit out the second clutch depending on size. I added a plastic lid with the hope that they will make life easy for me and lay the eggs on it.

    thx Gary.

The blacks are sitting in the sump now...they will go in my 30g Nuvo tank.

Their replacements for the 29g BioCube...(Black Misbar male and large Platinum female)

This means I probably disrupted the black pair and a second clutch will have to wait but being that the Nuvo tank is rimless I would rather chance a less expensive pair in that tank. The good news is that the black and platinum are a bonded pair and the female has layed before for another male.

I'll continue to update this thread as things move along. Feel free to chime in with feedback... I don't claim to know anything about breeding clowns just yet.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Wow that is awesome! If you ever do raise a clutch from the all black pair, I'd love two of them. Good luck man, the second pair is beautiful also.

    Just documenting species.

Black Darwin Pair (both are Amphiprion ocellaris F3)
Black Darwin misbar and female Platinum (black is Amphiprion ocellaris F2 and platinum is Amphiprion percula F3 or True Percula)

For those interested in a short read on the crossing possibilities.. (don't read if you don't like designer clownfish..haha)

haha Mike "misbarred platinums" ...that's funny, I'm just hoping I can get some hatched eggs, then I get to worry about making it past 48 hours...and then to metamorphosis! lol
