    Default 250 gallon solar reef

This tank concept was inspired by all of the great things that are going on here with captive breeding and aquaculture.

    tank: 250 gallon (60x36x27)
filtration: dsb / 150 lbs of lr / in tank macroalgae
circulation: closed loop with a reeflo dart
lighting: solar tubes and 216 watts of t5

    inhabitants:
an entire clutch of captive hatched picasso clowns (thanks again lorraine)
zog and wog - zach's watchman gobi / tiger pistol pair
bubble tip anemones (captive clones only)
maybe some aquacultured gorgos down the road
    macro algae

possible other additions: captive hatched banghai cardinals and captive hatched chromis

Step 1: raise a clutch of clowns. this means i will be starting a couple of cultures of rotis here at home and then will be hatching artemia. the clowns will live in a 20 long for a couple of months or so. cant wait for another good hatch of clowns...

i know this thread is worthless without pictures, so here is what i have so far

got the rotifer cultures started (thanks kristy and marcus!) gave them a good meal of frozen phyto to get them going.

also, you can see where all the water for the tank will come from in that pic - yep, tap water thru a carbon filter (same water source i used for the last tank).

That didn't take long. Sounds to be an interesting set up and I didn't expect less from you

looks great Ace...tell us more about the 250g...I saw you mention "solar tubes", I think that's a clue that this will be set up at the house? If so.... SWEET!
