I was at Justin's house today, and he mentioned it'd be fun to make a thread for myself, past presidents and future presidents to share stories from our times as President of our fine club. It's had many ups and downs in the 2.5 years as president and as this year goes by I'll be adding to this thread as stories come to me.

I guess the first story I'd like to share is from our first LMAR, in November of 2015.

We had all the stuff figured out as far as vendor setups, arrival times, table layout, and we were pretty much ready to go. Friday night, the night before setup, I had this crazy thought. We had tested the power in a few of the outlets, and they worked, but 12/16 outlets were untested. It was about 1AM when I had this thought and I got the first text from a vendor that they were loading up to leave from Oklahoma. Immediately I start freaking out that the room had no power (idk why anyone would think this) and then freaking out that the breakers would trip as people started plugging in. Fortunately, the power worked fine on all the outlets when we arrived, but we did have one breaker trip during setup as several vendors were using water warmers to heat up their water from the long drive. After the mini heart attack, things went well, and that LMAR was pretty crazy. I'll share more stories soon!

Thank you for posting this Zack I am already learning how easy it is to worry about what I am doing as the new incoming president. Had to put together a agenda for the first BOD meeting, plan future meetings and my scary one setting up the budget for the year. OMG a budget, I did't even know how much money our club has, what is the potential future income, how much should I allocate for meetings, LMAR, raffles, food, etc. Took a deep breath thanks to Zack's 2017 Excell spreadsheet and was able to come up with a budget for 2018. 8 more days before my term starts and already planning for next year.

Lol, I'm glad you made this thread. I think it would be cool and interesting for folks to read and get some insights on some stores from previous presidents. Hopefully it will pick up and future presidents will do the same....

As a former Board Member sometimes it feels as a thankless job especially now when it seems like there are so few post daily, even though as I tell many look at the views and it is amazing how many members come on this site to view what others have posted. LMAR has been great along with monthly meetings plus being able to borrow a PAR meter by being a Charter member. If anyone one is wondering we are up to 82 times the meter has been used by our members.
