In time do we domesticate our fish? Do you think that if after several years if your animals were released back into the wild, would they make it? My attached picture shows some of my fish just waiting for me to dump food so they can scarf it up. A typical day when I get home and my juvenile imperator angel sees me he heads straight for the corner at a 45 degree angle begging for food on his knee’s (if he had some). I have to be careful now so not to hit my Black Tang in the snout when I swish food into the tank. Lucky for me the tangs still graze on the liverock along with the two Regal Angels, but I cannot remember the last time I saw the Imperator forage for anything. His day consist of swimming around the tank keeping peace and begging for food.
So what do you think? Do we spoil our fish to no end with $25 a pound frozen fish food?

That's a great picture Alton! Yes, my fish would be dead in a heartbeat if released into the wild. They'd be too fat to get away from predators and too out of shape to catch any food.
I miss my emperor! Such personality!

This is my third imperator from Africa, the first one I sold after a year. He went from small juvenile to large changing in one year, the other I sold as a juvenile. This one is growing fairly fast and I know in a couple years I will probably have to re-home him, but we shall see.

Absolutely! My favorite was a 59 gallon tank full of 1 1/2-2" H. erectus. If I walked by the tank they would all swim to the front of the tank and then swim the length of the tank following me as I walked past. My clowns see me walk in the room and they immediately swim to the right front corner of the tank and don't try to feed them cheap food they want the expensive frozen stuff.

LOL for sure. I had taught my old yellows tricks to get their food.

My fish alway go after the food I put in the tank but I only do it once a day. They stay full so they do hunt for things in the tank, at least the larger ones. Only my clowns seem to exclusively eat when I feed the tank.
My tank does not have filter sock so there are plenty of particles and n the water. Things spawn in the tank all the time and the fish goes crazy when this happened.
