Looking at getting back into the hobby. Ideal dimension would be 6' long x 3' deep. I see Marine land makes one but I do not like the corner overflows. I liked the offset overflows of my old 215 oceanic brick. I never had a cal flow but I would be interested in that as well. My end goal is to have a very nice modern looking enclosed set up that is quiet. Thanks in advance for your advice!

I don't know my tank manufacturers well but Reef Savvy has an amazing reputation if you are not in a hurry and have lots of cash. They are so busy that you can order today and won't get your tank until 10 months later, but it'll be the last tank you ever buy. Solid build!
Either way, besides the Marineland one, I would think you would have to go custom to get those dimensions. On the cheap side, glasscages could build you what you need. Planet Aquariums has a great reputation for solid tanks and progress that aren't too crazy. Not sure if DSA in Dallas is still making tanks but if so, they make good ones.
Heads up on the Marineland one, you may want to Google stories about it. They've had a surprisingly high incidence of front glass blowouts with those tanks.

I have both a Reef Savvy and a Planet Aquarium tank. The Reef Savvy is amazing, long wait, and expensive. The Planet is really nice, reasonably priced, and took 4 weeks to make/deliver. Reef Savvy is all about making every last detail exactly like you want it, they do not crank out tanks, and there is no middle man -- you are working with the artisan directly. Planet is less detail oriented, more about high volume production, and you have to either be flexible on the little stuff or work really hard with the middle man (LFS) to try to get exactly what you want. I am really happy with both my tanks!

Sometimes I miss my 300DD from Marineland, but most of the time not. I am 6-4" and still could not reach the back bottom. Although I wanted a 72" x 30" x 25" high, I could not justify the cost, the standard 180 from Planet has been fine.

I almost wanted to ask if you could dust the high shelves in my house for me. :p

After the 200, I went to a 100 this go round. I am going to pursue Zeovit for nitrate reduction since I dont have tons of space for other reactors.
I guess all in all is what are you wanting to do this time? I am assuming you'll want to do stonies, T5 and MH or T5 and LED is the way to go.
Then you have to think about tank and sump size and what your plans are for nutrient and nitrate reduction.
You know the drill :-P

I would not want a 6'X3' that is 30 inches deep. I would do at the most 24-28 deep. Even at this deep I would make sure you can approach the tank front and back. I have a Planet Aquarium. Love it. Get an outside overflow. You will really love the added space.
i have a 71x36 30 deep and it is very difficult to manage since I have it in a fish room and cannot approach from the front. Bad error on my part

I have 3 Planet Aquariums. 2- 36"x30"x25" and a 60"x30"x30" hybrid glass/acrylic. The canopies on the 2 smaller tanks are the Coastal roll-back designs. Which makes accessing the tank a breeze. Because of the height I have had to learned to make the Tunzee tongs an extension of my arm. It can be very tricky with sps frags. Good thing I primarily use the 30" deep tank as a Gigas refuge. So I rarely need to reach the bottom. I remember your old tank Steve. It was truly incredible! You were way ahead of your time. Can't wait to see what you can do with this new system.

I had Oceanic tank way back when. Now a Planet Aquarium tank with exterL overflow and have been very happy with it.

Looks pretty rough? With it being open to the public,'you have to wonder how many scratches?

If you are going to spend the money, I would get one that you like to fill a space that you want. If there is a standard size tank that will do the job then get that, if not, go custom built. I would not go for a tank that does not quite fit the space because it is a little cheaper.
Everyone is different so: Best of luck. I know it will be a great tank.

Wow. A blast from the past! My 215 brick is too deep. I'd do the same footprint, just shallower. We have a calfo on the end, and it's a see-thru tank.
If you or someone else has some of your scubasteveo euphyllia around, I'd gladly buy some! I lost mine with a fresh water period of a couple of years.
