They aren't exciting, they aren't expensive, and they certainly aren't photographed well, but hey...I now have the start of a reef tank and not just a bunch of wet rock. Woo Hoo!

Nice man. I really like that cap? Is it an Idaho Grape?

Nope, just a no-name red monti cap bought local. It's just the lighting and my phone camera making it look more impressive than what it really is. In a little over week's time I can already see the edges have grown a tiny bit - so very cool. As a matter of fact I have been delighted just watching the tank start to settle and develop: coralline algae starting to grow, copepods and amphipods appearing, chaeto expanding; it's been great to see it all start to happen.

Did you keep any Urchins in your display, or remove them all to your sump? The ones you gave me did a great job in my display so last night I moved two to the sump. The Pistol Shrimp I have in the sump/fuge was not happy, he clicked a bunch.

I kept two; one for each rock pile. I just found a third that has somehow eluded me all this time and will need to be moved out. With just the two (instead of the dozen...) there is enough for them to eat while not stripping the coralline.
