Hey folks,
For those of you who have kept leathers, what is the typical shedding pattern you have seen? I picked up a devil's hand and placed in a 14 gallon nano; it took about a week to shed. It opened right up when originally placed, and then a day later closed up and developed a waxy film, and shed its outer layer. I have a power head pointed at it so the flow flushed the shed off quickly. Now it is clear of detritus and extending polyps fairly aggressively.
What have other folks noticed? What size tank, flow, temp and circumstances have you observed leathers shed in? Is it a recurring and regular thing once you have them established, or is it predictable and rare? I think the one I am referring to just reacted to being placed in a new environment.
Very interested in other folks observations!
