Hello,
I could use a little help with figuring out where to place a sponge. Here in Djibouti I go to the beach often to try to catch some nice fish. Being so unsuccessful I've decided to keep the chromis I have and just go reef with my tank.
This last weekend I wandered up the cliff side when the tide went out and found some real deep green LPS and some odd blue sponge that was growing on the rocks that are only under water during the 2 high tide times. I searched and searched for info on these but I can only find where folks say don't let air touch them or they will die. Well, that wont work as I pulled them off the rock face that didn't have water touching it for at least 2 hours just while I was there. These grow in small tube shapes. I will snap a pic of both the coral and the sponge tonight and try to upload it for a positive ID.
