Hi everyone!
I've been slowly working on my 240 build for past 1.5 years!
I did a lot of background work to make sure the going goes smooth. I'll write about them later.
Today finally I got the tank salty!!
Don't have that much salt water ready so it will happen in batches lol
Here's a pic:

More later!
I hope to meet every one on one of the meetings. My works unpredictable and am often working during the meet ups.

Congrats on the new/ongoing build, looking good so far. Hopefully we can see some pictures of the filtration in the near future.

That looks really good. I love the rockscaping that you have there. From the angle of the photo, it looks like your overflow is pretty low, like almost 2 inches from the top. That would give you a lot of flex in case you have some issue with the drains or what not! I can't wait to see this bad boy progress. Any shots of your equipment?

The rockscape took sometime. Wife had to critic. So now I have 5 islands two large on sides and 3 smaller. None of them same height. With lots of depth, composition, movement.
Reef savvy Overflow is 1/2" lower than recommend. Needed that for the bracing

As pointed out rightly by Justin in a post above the water line is 2" below.
It was necessary to keep the overflow that low due to the bracings.
Now I still want to bring the water level a little higher..... will partially say 1/2" blocking/ raising the overflow teeth be advisable?
Thinking of putting an acrylic strip on the back side of the teeth.
Any advice?

Its a tough call man. I thought the overflow looked a little low. You're best bet is to either raise the teeth if that is possible or create an "acrylic skin" using new black acrylic that would be weldon'd to the existing sides but to the height you want. Its going to look a little DIY but if you do it from the outside of the overflow, it will mask the original height. I'm sure others can chime in on some other suggestions.

If I weld it I will do it from inside. The teeth can easily come out and I can weld it to the inside of the detachable teeth.
Once back in place it won't be seen at all.
Definitely not doing it from outside.

Some updates:
Started the Zeovit dosing 15 days now
Parameters as follows:
1.026
Temp 79-82
Alk 7-8
Cal 460
Nitrate 2.5
Phos 0.02
So far excited about the zeovit.
Initially it seemed overwhelming
But now it is down to:
ZeoBac every 3 days
ZEOstart and zeoSponge everyday. That's all.
I've also set up an aquarium app. It help keeps record of EVERYTHING and also set reminders for EVERYTHING in my iPhone calendar with reminders
Best $10 I spent!

Have set up my continuous water change system past 4 weeks
About 5 ml/min 24x7x365 continuous
And it is going excellent.
1: New salt Water from reservoir comes into the main sump.
2: exact volume of 'old' water is pulled out from the sump and is fed into a quarantine tank
3: then an exact amount of water is pulled from the QT into the house drain.

Talking about the drains:
That was the first thing I tackled when I started the fish room:
All my fish room setup is in a store room near the garage along with a small sub stair crawl space.
So: the store room which is long and narrow 22'x6.5' is my fish room. And
The sub stair crawl space is my sump room. There's a door between them.
First thing I did was sump room plumbing:
Got a new water line and installed a sink with hot and cold water.
Dug the concrete and installed a drain for the sink and a FLOOR drain there

Ive also drilled a 1.5" bulkhead to my main sump about an 1.5" from top and this is hard plumbed into the house drain.
So for whatever reason if water ever rises beyond that is allowed in case of power loss ( have enough room in sump that it should never over flow) water will go down that sump drain and into the house drain.
Then if water ever drops on the floor I also have a floor drain installed and it goes down the drain.
So much redundancy to make sure it does not ruin my house

Also the floor is water right.... rubber flooring in both the rooms. Even if 250 gallons of water falls in the fish room floor it will all go to the sump room and down the floor drain....

Sadly this forum is not what is used to be when I joined, so it may seem at times your posting to yourself, but heyy im reading !!! I'm sure there are some others reading as well....
I'm curious about your water changed methods, so new salt is going in at the same time Old water going out to QT ? or does New salt finish and then Old water starts?

Yay!!! I get a reply!! Thank you for reading through LOL
Seriously we need to make this an active forum.
I've learnt from previous mistake and hence the redundancies.... re the fish room..
Re the water exchange....
It's a continuous process...about 5 ml per min for ever. (60 gallons:25% exchange a month)
The old water is being pulled out the sump near the skimmer area and the New water is being fed in more distally, more closer to the return pump area. If you can imagine.
I have a 75gallon storage tank for the salt water.... so basically I have to stop that exchange for a day when I fill it up with rodi water and mix salt in it.
Currently that's the only part I do manually.
Once the new cerebra is out, I plan to hook that storage cylinder to float switches to tell me when it's ready to be filled.

Nice fish room! What area of the house am I looking at? I see a drain and plumbing for a sink.
It's a storage room in the garage... the 75g water storage is in a part of the actual garage.
The sump room in the pics above is a sub stair crawl space converted to a sump room:
Everything that you see is done from scratch: floor drain was the first thing I did, plumbing for sink, rubber flooring, water proofing walls, electrical
The sump room opens into the actual storage room that is convetered to my fish room: where the DT is. It's long and narrow: 22x6.5' or believe me my DT depth would have been more than 2'.....
