They also seem to like lower light and flow.

I don't know if anyone has heard of an ai prime hd (leds) that's what it's under in a biocube 29 .. first time running leds so don't know if that's the issue

That should be fine. I don't know what the actual output of those units are (I'm looking to add one to my nano as well), but the hammer looks fine so I wouldn't worry about it.
