Thought I'd make a post to talk about hitchhickers. I think waiting to find out what little weird critters pop out is half the fun of buying a new coral. Below is some kinda weird slug with spikes. I've spotted 4 of them already on this Zoa colony I bought from Elegant Reef.

Looks like nudibranchs. Do you have any Coral dip? I'd get that Coral into a Coral or freshwater dip ASAP.

Nudi. They eat zoas
I used a turkey baster to suck them out when i saw them. Dip your zoas and also dip new corals. I got a melanuris wrasse and never seen another nudi again!

Go with Bayer dipping them. Ideally, what I do is shock them with a Fresh water dip for like a min or two and then into a Bayer dip for 8 mins. After that I baste the frag and then into a clean SW cup to help rinse the frag. While in this state, I set the clear cup on a white sheet of paper or any object and observe for any movement and also for eggs. Dipping does not really impact the eggs but you can scrape the masses once you see them.
If you have seen 4, chances are you have a lot more that you cannot see.

Well, I did the Bayer coral dip like you guys posted above and it worked great! It also killed off a huge amount of pods and those mysis shrimp that hitchicked as well which was a bummer but a necessary sacrifice :( Thanks for the heads up about the zoa eatting nudibranchs! I'm gonna dip them again next week just to catch any hatchlings that are left.

Be sure to be presistant on them! I took a flash light and looked for them at night took a while to catch them all. What size tank? Look for wrasses that eat them if you are interested in a new fish per your tank size!

Want to say i paid like 10 bucks for it maybe? It was a few years back. Actually bought it to find a A/C leak on my jeep before i got heavy into reefing!

Hi JustAddSalt,
Looks nice :)
Do they always be in this size or they will grow bigger?
