Do we know if the saws water supply has chloramine in it?

Other than that I am still suffering with the unbelievable rate the di resin is being used up.
Any one else have these issues in San Antonio?
I live in north north west SA. Between 410-1604 and I10-281.

Sounds like chloramine has been added in your area since 2013.

That was for north east SA.
I'm in north west and I know Edward aquafier is somewhere under us.
That could also explain the di resin dying so fast..... underground water.....high co2

But not sure re chloramine.

I get my water from Green Valley in Marion and they use Chloramines. My DI last forever, but my catalytic carbon and membranes do not! Twenty years ago GV was using Edwards water it was reversed, my DI filter only lasted for 200 gallons, so I stopped using DI because of the cost.

I read somewhere the only thing you can do to have your DI last longer is make up 50 gallons of RO in a barrel and let it sit for a couple days with the top open. Then use a small pump to pump the RO through the DI filter.

You can speed that process up by adding an air pump and air stone to that barrel. A lot of people in Pflugerville near Austin have to do that as well.

Yes I did research the diff ways we could get rid of the co2.
Air pump seems the cheapest.

Question is anyone else in Sam Antonio has the same issue as mine????

I don't recall my DI resin ever going bad that fast, but I moved from that area a few months back. Have you tried contacting Buckeye Hydro or Air Water and Ice? They specialize in RODI units and their upkeep and their sites should have best contact info.

I've not spoken to them but some other companies like liquicell and the commercial product to rid co2 is too expensive for hobby. Cheapest and best way I have concluded is the air pump.

Interesting.
Do you know after the resin is done, how many more gallons do you get out of it at 1tds?

Ok, just for some perspective, when you say you go through di resin really quickly...how fast are you talking? How many gallons of ato and/water change does it last?

Oh wow...that is quite fast! Not sure about how the water there affects it.

I just measured the co2 in my RO ( Pre DI) water and it is around 5 ppm.
Still wondering if this is the cause.
It is cooler today so calculations may be off by little.
What is normal?

Why would CO2 affect your di resin?

Co2 is adsorbed by DI resin and it eats up the resin pretty fast.
