View Full Version : Found a Beauty 180 gallon tank

This is a new build separate from the other setup. Work in progress but it has monster sump, 36 inch tall furniture stand, and 180 gallon tank with 2 holes drilled on back wall with an overflow . The goal is to get the tank running and cycled . No water yet. I like t5 lights and found a 6 ft aquatic life t5 with 8 39 watt t5 bulbs. I will slowly bring in LEDs to make a hybrid http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161005/7290e8fd0ca03fa84694043e7de66e22.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161005/d8f4ae51899e421cbb17b599311051ac.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161005/644b44b134ab5f89cf7a55dcffe66375.jpgas funds become available .

It was drilled and I kept it the same . 2 1.5in bulk heads on the back wall with overflow. I was able to move the plumbing over and the pvc is 1.5 in so I'm assuming the bulkheads are the same. Didn't measure

Looking for a bigger skimmer with a 12in cup to hold skimmate . From one side of acrylic to the other side I have maybe 20x16 but I have plumbing in the way. This brand new skimmer might be too big. Or maybe perfect for a brand new D.C. pump at $675. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/regal-300int-12-internal-protein-skimmer-varios-reef-octopus.htmlhttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161203/ee7ebb2741aed79b6ac89cd63fde3a2f.jpg

All my tanks use a hybrid setup and have for a long time . This setup uses an aquatic life t5 72 in 8 bulb setup and three 180 watt Chinese leds that are controlled with a remote control. Grow with the t5 and supplement the led pop. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170215/063faafa43bbb32bc7f54a721d85acd2.jpg

All good lmk . Past year has been very good with coral for both sps and zoas. These fish tank setups are keepers and I'm hoping to get 10+ on Years on these. Reef only gets better with time.
