Anybody up for a group order on berghia nudibranch? I've got some aptasia and I'd like a natural and easy way to get rid of them...so I'm ordering these. Let me know if there is any interest.
Here is the place I'm thinking of

Wow! Everyone remain calm and try and control your excitement. Don't everyone jump in at once!
Lmao. The traffic on Maast is an absolute joke compared to what it used to be....that bums me out. Ok ok berghia nudibranch may not be the sexiest topic or critter to put in your tank....but the site in general is like a ghost town. Did the Maast Facebook page kill the Maast website?

We have someone in south Austin trying to breed them but she's going to be a least 3-4 months out from producing viable stock to sell.
As for traffic on here, it's been pretty stagnant since I joined earlier this year but I was pretty sure it was because everyone was trying to avoid me. :p
I don't really like to use Facebook as my reefing venue so I'm not active at all on the SoaSA Facebook page. It seems to be a rolling list of saltwater classifieds to me and people having issues with their tanks, though there seems to be more activity on there.
It really is a shame that this forum is not that active though it is the middle of summer and everyone is probably on vacation or busy with other things. I always hear that summer is the slow season for LFSs so I can see that translating to the forums.
If it weren't for the grow out contest, I think we'd see two posts a week on this forum.
Austin reef club went through a spell of slow posting once and we changed that by pushing recruitment of new members. We started to advertise more in the local stores and kicked up monthly meetings to engage the new hobbyists. That led to new energy in the club and a lot more topics to chat about which increased traffic a lot.

Randy for once I am aptaisia free, for anyone wondering although it may take months for nudi's to work they are awesome. I normally get 3 to 4 large and wait for the egg strings. Once you have eggs it doesn't take long. Just remember no wrasses.

I have used them multiple times with absolutely positive results ... Key is to have enough Bergias ..: +1 what Alton mentioned spend a little more and buy larger ones that are already breeding and within no time u 'll start seeing egg strands and let them multiply on their own

I'm planning on ordering probably 12 of the medium size. I'm surprised nobody is interested...surely people out there have aptasia! I'll give it another few days before I just order myself. Thanks for the feedback Lucky, Alton, and Ty...at least there are a few of us still lurking.

Randy what did you end up doing? I lied I found a few in one of my tanks, and as we all know if you find one in the open there are more hiding

The idea is to find them a home before that happens. In 15 years of dealing with aptasia I have only had luck once eliminating aptasia using the liquid. For everyone you see there is one in and under the rocks waiting to multiply. I used shrimp once and they mowed it down, but then started picking on corals, after removing them guess what came back. I have only had 1 of 3 Copperbands that ate it, but I lost him recently after 13+ years. His replacement loves to eat but not aptasia, I even put aptasia in his QT tank and wouldn't touch it. Just remember if you have wrasses nudi's will have a hard time surviving.

I tried aptasia x and it did not work. Aptasia came back. Aptasia away works. I got my bottle of aptasia away from south seas off Babcock rd.

Alton 15 years ... In the hobby . I think I'm at 10. Nice to see those that stay in the hobby. Staying with technology is one of the fun parts of the hobby. Hybrids and new controllers are the wave. I'm a lifetime salty

Actually 25 years in the saltwater hobby, the rock I started with wasn't live, I am thinking I may have started with lava rock? And first aptasia I ever saw (2000) was pretty neat, it wasn't till I got into corals in 2001 that I found out it was bad. I remember seeing a store where they sold aptasia rock as coral rock. For now I like my low tech RKL controller, and LED is about as high tech as I want to go for now.

Holy smokes ... 25 years no brakes ??? Brakes don't count lol if you step away from having a sw tank it does not count as having a year being a salty :)

Yea my first tank I setup after visiting Polly's pets in 1980. that lasted about two months until my mother went ballistic with all the salt creep. Pollys had a orange clown trigger at the time which is the only one I ever saw except in the atlas. Larry (Instar) at one time raised berghias, it was nice having a local supplier. The first time he brought me two jumbos with egss, acclimated them and in a matter of minutes they where destroying the aptasia right in front of us.

That's awesome. My first tank was a 55 gallon with 2 blue damsels. Only 1 lived :(. The more I google the more I see berghias work but you really need to have several aptasia not one or 2.
