I have always had an office tank from 10 to 158 gallons. My latest one is a 65 which fits pretty well. A year ago I went from 250w metal halide to 50 watts of led using a Build My Led 20K fixture that I bought used. At about the same time I accidently broke one of my corals in my 300 so I glued the piece to a plug and placed it in this tank. The following is a list of pictures that show its growth pattern, including the first three months where I thought it wasn’t going to make it. I did lose the feather duster along the way and added some Euphyllia. This tank contains a Bluespot Jawfish, Small Copperband, Baby Regal Angelfish, and a pair of Golden Angels.

Doing great, I was worried when BML changed names to Fluence Bioengineering , but I spoke with Mitch and he said they will honor all BML warranties. Going from BML/ Metal Halide to just BML in my 180 I did not lose a coral.

That is amazing. Didnt’ even open my box...it was shipped so tight, i’ll test them out when i get home in about 3 months. Glad they will honor their warranty still...

I started my build when i went home. When i get back in October, i’ll be able to finish it up and get a water test going to ensure i don’t have leaks. I did not take pictures cause once i got into the groove, i just kept it moving. But when I do get home i’ll snap some and take a video of the water test and movement i get with my two CP-40’s i got. Which are the jaebo versions of the gyre 150....

I also got the wireless controllers to be able to sync them and run different programs to create some random turbulence in the tank. So I can’t wait to get back and start that. And again, until I get to school and find out where I will be stationed at next, which should be May 2017, i’ll have this thing most likely wrapped up and awaiting duty station location before actual set up.
Prior to school in Dec and Jan, i guess i’ll work on the canopy and stand for the tank.

Well I did a major fragging on the Shrooms making room for new corals. I actually removed 60+

And a new picture (Poor Quality) of my regal that continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Making the old myth that Regals grow at a slower rates than most Angelfish fictional. Which makes me sad because I know I will have to re-home him soon.

The tank looks great Alton! I wonder what you're going to put where those mushrooms used to be? :shades:

I'll take that regal off your hands any day whenever its time to move on. Would love to have a pair cruising my tank.

Thanks, yea at the rate he is going I may have to relocate him at the end of summer. I bought the little guy to pair with another but the two in my 180 are getting along so well I don't want to mess that up

How did the pairing process go for you? Did you just get one much bigger than the other and put them in at the same time?

Since my disaster in my 180 I started with a large juvenile and very small juvenile. I had the large juvenile, so when I added the baby I placed a piece of egg crate separating them for a few weeks. It is mostly a stay out of my way type of agreement between the two most times, never any chasing, and while eating there is no aggression at all. I am hoping when they become adults it works out and they pair up.

Thanks Alton! I might have to try that out down the road. Having one regal is a dream, two will be twice as good!

Thanks.
It is a far cry from perfect, but it has been very stable for my corals and fish
