I'm looking for some guidance on battery backups. I'm fairly new to the hobby about thinking about adding a backup battery to our 90 gallon mixed reef aquarium.
Does anyone have some suggestions?

Depending on what you want to back up? I currently run 2 ecotech backups for each of my MP40's. My total system does not have a backup but I do have a spare generate still in plastic wrap for the instance that I have a whole house outage. What were looking to have backed up?

I have a backup generator I can pull out as well if necessary. I'm looking for something to keep the one powerhead I have going in each tank. They came with the systems so not sure what the size is.
Have you seen anyone use the backup batteries that are used on computer systems?

Consumer computer UPS systems are way to small IMO. They probably wouldn't run the pumps for more than a few min. If you into DIY you can build one using a 500 watt inverter, car battery and a 120 volt DPDT relay. The one I built several years ago would last 24 hours running a power head.
