Lonestar Marine Aquarists Rally- May Frag Swap

With two great frag swaps held in 2015, the Maast board of directors is proud to present our first frag swap of 2016, the Lonestar Marine Aquarist Rally!

We have partnered up with the San Antonio Aquarium again to provide one of the most unique frag swap events in the country! Those who RSVP by April 30th will enjoy free admission for themselves and their guests to enjoy the aquarium for the day, including its amazing selection of animals and interactive experiences. We have again been given access to the private area of the aquarium and will be hosting several vendors from around the country for an awesome evening of buying, selling, and trading corals!

Here's the schedule of events:

San Antonio Aquarium 6320 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238

Saturday April 30th: 330-7 vendor setup (the room will not be open to the public at this time)
Sunday May 1st: 10AM BOD/ Vendor arrival
10AM-12PM Quarter 2 board meeting
12PM-4PM: LMAR Frag Swap
4-6 Cleanup

For literally the cost of a frag, you have a chance of winning some really awesome prizes that we reserve for those that are within the charter membership group. I actually have it and it's awesome! I want another one though so I can keep it along the back glass and not have to move it between panes. It works on the front and side panels but because of the overflows, I have to manually pull it apart and reinsert in the back to clean. Those magnets could rip my fingers off so I try to minimize that as much as possible!

Wow, great event this past weekend! Thanks Zack and all those involved for making it such a fun time and it was great meeting a lot of you there in person.

Sorry I was having frag tank issues but happily, once I ditched the ones that were going south and replaced with new water, the rest of the frags made it out happy and healthy. I'll have a better showing come this Fall.

I wanted to say a few short words about yesterdays swap,

First, thank you so much to everyone who helped us setup and cleanup the event. Brandon Skidmore, Ada & Richard Garza, Tim Coyle, Ricky, and the aquarium staff really made this event possible. If it was just us 6 BOD we would have not been able to manage everything. I'd also like to thank everyone who came out! We had 14 new charter members, 2 new sponsors (with a third incoming), and introduced dozens of new hobbyists to MAAST. It was an awesome weekend with tons of great memories and I can't wait until the next swap to do it all again!
