Lid over return bucket

My final bucket which has the filtrated water doesnt have any sort of cover and i feel like its collecting all sorts of dust and other unwanted stuffs and things.

Does it really matter if its opened? I mean, its not like it would hurt by adding some sort of cover. Thing is, i dont know how i can cover the bucket so if its really not needed...

Can you post a pic? If you're getting dust and other things in your tank Id definitely look into some sort of cover, just be sure that you have a good wave maker for surface agitation.

Its kind of hard to see, but my skimmer drains into that bucket and from there it returns into my tank.
