What a day!!
The Lonestar Marine Aquarist Rally was FANTASTIC and while myself and our amazing event staff are physically and mentally exhausted, we had a BLAST! The Aquarium's final tally for our event was over 350 attendees and everything went amazing from the vendor setups, check ins, entry and exit, the ebb and flow of the lines, and the charter member verification area, it all went really really well!
This year we were fortunate enough to have had some fantastic donations from Zen Reef, Coral Cove, Bulk Reef Supply, Alamo Aquatics, Marineland, Cobalt Aquatics, Frag Shapes, Coral RX, Liberty Aquatics, Texas Roadhouse, and many generous donations from MAAST charter members.
To the members who helped us both yesterday and today, you guys are are what makes this club great. Brandon, you in particular my friend were an all star yesterday beating both me and Justin to the aquarium and helping 5 vendors setup their booths as well as carry water and other heavy items for them. Rick, you forfeited your charter member prize eligibility just to help us man the charter member station and stayed at the booth checking people in for most of the swap. Ryan, you donated two fantastic Texas Roadhouse gift certificates as well as helped vendors setup this morning and really helped us streamline the whole admissions process and helped us get members in the door quickly.
Some highlights of the day:
The first 10 charter members received a goodie cooler with a decal, sponsor business cards, Coral RX one shots, and two of those bags had a 'golden ticket'!
We had over 200 admissions checked in by 12:30!
We had over a dozen new charter members and renewals during the day, and had 4 very lucky charter members win prizes from our charter door prize lineup!
We had one new sponsor signup (forum to be created soon) from Issac Martin, the owner and founder of Frag Shapes with several potential new sponsors incoming!
The aquarium staff brought in several snakes and reptiles into our private area for our members to get up close and personal with!
Coral Cove raised over $300 today for the Blue Santa Toy Drive & The San Antonio Food Bank!
And last but certainly not least, Phamily was awarded a lifetime charter membership for his contributions to our club!
It was an action packed day filled with fun and friends and we're so glad you all were able to enjoy it with us.

We hope to announce our 'what's next' very soon. - The 2015 MAAST Board of Directors
