So about a week ago I bought 3 fish a flagfin angel fish, copper banded butterfly and a flame angel fish. Both the flagfin and the copper banded died after about 3-4 days for the flag and 5-6 days on the copper banded.
The flame angel is doing great. And I also have a pajama Cardinal fish.
I'm not sure why they keep dieing:( it's quite sad.

The he tank is doing grate parameters are good. I feed daily.
What do you guys think the problem is. Lights are on a timer. And I have a few corals like Zoas and GSP. I have lots of mini starfish, about 10 turbo snails. A long spine sea urchin, a sea hair.

What could use some advice thank you

I did not, they are the only 4 fish in the whole tank. It's 160 gallons

I have no experience with a flagfin, CBs can be tricky to get it to eat, was it eating prepared foods?

How long had the store had them? Sometimes collecting techniques, travel, acclimation, etc can stress and kill fish. CB butterflies are not reported to be too hardy, although some people they do fine for. How long has the tank been up? Did they eat during the few days before dying?

Copperbands do best with fresh clams that were opened and tied to a rock. You can get them from your local grocery store. This should get them eating and eventually you can try to switch them over to frozen. They need something to pick at because it's difficult for them to eat out of the water column.

The LFS had them for about a week before I bought them. My tank has been up and running since christmas last year. The tank is full of the really small white feather dusters. Witch is the reason I got the CB so that he could eat them. They were growing all over my glass and everywhere. Yeah they were eating befor they passed.

Do you have algae in your tank? Can you post a pic of your tank?

I guess the main questions for us are the following:

How old is the system?
Water parameters?
Do you use RODI water or tap?
Other livestock in the tank?

I know this is a older thread. But I have a CBB in my tank and it is eating everything. Mysis, brine, angel food preps etc. I recommend getting an angel food and CBB mixture from the lfs. They are cheap 5-7 bucks for a tray. I take a cube and place it directly on the power head intake. The fish go nuts for it.

Is your CBB in the nose down position very often? This is a great sign and shows that it's actively hunting. You can also reduce the flow by 80% when feeding to allow for a gentle movement of the food. This might entice them to eat as well since they don't have to work so hard to capture it. You can increase the flow rate a little each week until you feed at 100%.

Lastly. If your CBB has a certain spot in the tank it likes to go, place the white feather dusters in that section to help entice it. Feed it frozen prep there. As well.

Hope it helps
