Is this what I think it is? Cyano? Should I start using ChemiClean?

I started running my Ecoxotic LEDs a little longer and noticed this growth today.

Use a turkey Baster to see if you can suck it off the rocks.

Tried it. Didn't work. It's pretty stuck on there.

Cyno is red. What I see is more white. Is that correct? If so it might be some type of sponge growing. Not 100% sure though.

I agree with Dkray, 1st pic looks like it may be a sponge, 2nd pic may be cyano. Hard to tell though.

Cyano in the marine environment is commonly referred to as "red slime algae". It can be easily siphoned off of rocks or substrate and is more of a aesthetic issue. As to what you are seeing, I am not sure.
