View Full Version : Would you open your door to a monthly member meeting at your home?

Hello MAAST

At our last meeting one of the discussion topics of the Board of Directors was to see if there was any interest within our membership to start holding some of our monthly meetings at the homes of MAAST members. There are some amazing tanks out there and we could all benefit from learning from each other and seeing the results of the many different techniques used in the hobby. If you are interested in hosting a meeting at your home the club has a $150.00 monthly meeting budget to supply refreshments and or supplies for these meetings. The meetings would be strictly RSVP and you set the limit on how many members would be invited into your home. Your address would also ONLY be given to those that RSVP for the meeting and would not be given out on the open forum.

Not sure my tank is "worthy", but I'd be up for it in the winter months.

October isn't considered winter but it's open if that month works for you Bill.

We are currently working with OrionN on quite possibly holding the September MAAST meeting at his home in Corpus. He plans to give us the ins and outs of his 400 plus gallon system and cover Calcium Reactors in detail. This will be one that you will not want to miss. Minh's set up is truly epic in every sense of the word. More to come on this as the details are worked out. A meeting thread will be started when we have all of the pertinent information.

He was checking with his "boss" to determine the weekend that they could open their home to us. Waiting to hear back. :)

I just heard back from OrionN and unfortunately he is unable to host a meeting in September so we are back to the drawing board. If anyone is interested in hosting our September meeting please let us know. Thank you.

Good afternoon MAAST members and sponsors! We are currently looking for a location for our September meeting. We usually do 2 hour meetings and can provide food/ drinks or reimburse you (up to $150). We also have a new program for members who host a meeting. One lucky host will receive a $250 gift card to a local store!
