Now that i dont have any pesky angels I wanted to know.....What do you look for in a clam health wise when picking them out? I have kept many a clam before and have always just looked for good foot attachment, mantel extension, and color. Still some after a week or so just completely shrivel up and die/or leave an empty shell behind. What tips/guidelines do you use when buying a new one?

Make sure you have an established tank and all parameters are good and watch out for those predator snails that attached to the clam.
