So what do you do for your sps colonies to get the most PE? None of my sps (grand total of 2...) really have any polyp extension worth noting. Sometimes I think they might in the evening time but it might be mind tricks.

I notice a marked improvement on polyp extension when I reduced my skimmer usage, and started to feed the tank Reef Roids and Decapsulated brine shrimp. I am now skimmer less and everything from the micro to macro are loving life.

^^^^^^ skimmer less has worked for me also . However I do agree it's not the best option for everyone depending upon what kind of husbandry routine u have for ur tank. Controlled but sure nitrates and regular feeding does help . My corals usually have polyp extension through out the day even at night

When mine was packed with SPS, I never really had greap PE. But they grew like mad. They were pretty well fed...

I find keeping my hands out of my tank and going out of town for the day really helps PE, I also try to never use a tool or turkey baster without cleaning it first, that usually a 3x rinse in DI water before any target feeding.

I agree with keeping your hands out of the tank. Across don't like to be messed with. I would also add good indirect flow helps. Just make sure it's not blasting the coral.
