Anyone using the 150 or 130 version? I'm kind of waiting to see what/when the 170 will come out. I saw Tuans and loved the water movement.

I have the 130 and i love it. For a 100 gallon cube i have to keep it at less than half strength. Water movement is great

Old thread but I recently got a gyre 150. Based on my rockscape and coral, my mp40s where not helping out. So I got the gyre 150 and it is flowing very well. I'm running it at 50% and all my coral getting very good flow. I noticed the top flow seems a bit faster than the lower flow. Which is perfect for my corals because I have sps on mid-top and acans on the mid-bottom. Also the pattern is very even across the tank
Although I liked all the wireless and other features of the mp40 , I believe it is what my tank needs and not what I personally like lol. Hope this helps

Good intel. I was on the fence on getting some gyre's in my tank. I decided to go with MP40's mainly because I got a great deal for two of them and I already had a WXM and the programming setup for Vortech's on my Apex. Still the amount of water flow the gyre's is impressive. I heard that they just recently created a controller for the gyre that is compatible with the Apex systems...so maybe in the future.

Yes. I will probably wait on icecap controller for gyre for a while. I will add another first and run them pulsing mode on alternating times through Apex for the time being. That would work for a while and or maybe won't need the icecap
