Hey KLwheat, what kind of lighting are you using? Have you thought about using a colored piece of plastic that goes in front of your lens. Blue and orange work really well for us in the reef hobby.

ok...first update. They've been in the tank for 6 days now. Lighting is a single Gen1 radion, currently at 14K color and 50% strength (bringing back up from 40-70 during 2 week acclimation).

Hey Larry on the chalice you are looking for new eyes as well as new skeletal growth which will encrust across the plug.

Well, so while rearranging some things in the tank, I managed to break my Acropora off and lose it somewhere in the tank. Couldn't believe it!
a big thanks to David and Dean for hooking me up with a replacement. Starting over in that category now...lol. New pics soon.

ok...new update. New Acro is in and I love the color. The chalice is getting a little better color, can't even tell where the "eyes" are though...lol. Same 2 palys as well.271832718427185

okay...time for another update. The replacement acro has been in the tank for 10 days now. No real growth noted, but I love the colors and am starting to get decent PE. Lighting is the same Gen1 radion, currently 14K and up to 60%.

I really like the look of this chalice. Seems pretty "fluffy" during the day. Can't say I've noticed any growth yet...but looking at them all 10 times a day may be part of the problem...lol

The mouths are what it refers to, I believe. Basically has it grown new sections because they do not split. At least that is my thought.

I think I see 2 on yours. Those two raised circular areas. If you see tentacles at feeding it helps you to see the "eyes"

Looks like the acro is growing a bit...decent PE too. Love the color of this one.

The chalice definitely seems to be growing a bit, hanging more over the end of the frag plug now. Really loving the color as it's coloring up a bit.

I know the feeling. This morning I heard a sound that sounded like glass cracking. I immediately freaked out and checked all my tanks. It turned out to be one of my dogs bumping their glass feeding bowl. Last week a friend of mine and his wife were sitting in their living room. They heard a crack and sure enough their IM Nuvo 30 had run a crack up one end. Fortunately it wasn't even wet.

Okay...got a bit behind on the posts here...sorry!
So, the acro looks great. It's essentially completely encrusted the frag plug and it growing some new "sprouts" from the sides. I love the color on this one, and PE is great. The chalice is doing well, continues to grow off the side of the plug, and I think I may have a 3rd mouth...not sure yet. Love the color on this one as well! The palys?? Well, they disappeared. Still only had 2, came down one morning and had an empty frag plug...not sure if my urchin removed them or what happened.

One more update: the acro is looking great. I love this thing. Good color, good PE, completely encrusted the frag plug, and even got a few new "branches"!
The chalice looks awesome as well. Very cool color, especially in the "blue" light in the evening. It's grown well, hanging off one side of the frag plug now, and I think there's a third mouth.
