I have a Reefkeeper so far setting up the net is one giant PAIN. I have no personal experience with the apex but everyone i know that has it loves it.

Like any complicated expensive product you want to buy it at your LFS so if there is any issues they can help you. I have never heard of Arcon? Here is my take on Controllers; if you want something simple and cheap that works buy a Reef Keeper Lite, program it using the display, and never do an upgrade. If you want internet, top of the line stuff go with Apex.

I would go with Apex. Never heard of Arcon. I have an apex and it provides peace of mind and ease when it comes to reefing. I'm able to control my equipment with ease and add safety points in my system. It's a good insurance for a tank and will pay for itself in the long run.

Sorry I spelt the name wrong.
Here is a link.

Im looking for something that will control lights, ATO, pumps, have wifi, as well as a digitol screen for next to the aquarium. I need it to be able to mimic certain weather in the ocean like when it storms the water becomes rougher and when it's a sunny day it will be not as rough. But random water flow nothing the same. So that it can mimic the natural ocean as much as posible.

Based on ur requirements and how many plugs are u looking to control and ur budget will determine which controller is best for u . I have used em all reek keeper , apex and ghl . Reef keeper being simple and serves good purpose in general controlling and usually affordable . Apex and ghl are expensive controller and has probably all he bells and whistles u can imagine from controlling and dimming ur lights to feeding and also can do a auto water change based on ur system and equipments. Again it all depends what are u looking for. Apex has the best customer service and will help u with programming according to ur needs . Ghl is known for its quality and build to last but no one on one customer service and it's the most difficult unit to program and can run u up to 2k with their elite package . He only customer service that ghl provides is via email and their online forums .
It all comes down how much of the nature of satisfaction and controllability u need with ur system . My current system is running all in it own with no timers and is doing fine. The only thing I didn't hesitate to spend my money was equipments like pumps and lights which has their own controller and no need for any other controllers to program . As like any electronics any thing can fail on u and I have been through all this ever since they been out. I choose no to use em but rather spend money on other quality equipment and couldn't be happier

Have you thought or even compared puratek into this? The up front cost is a little more but you get more.
