Looking for a recommendation for a pump to power a Precision Marine SR35 media reactor with GFO. I'm out of spares and will have to buy a new pump. Hoping to match the needed output so I don't have to throttle it back. I've never used a reactor like this, so I don't know where to start.

Hey John. I don't have a PM reactor but I run my NextReef MR1 off of a Cobalt Aquatics MJ 1200. BRS mentioned that Cobalt has a better build quality than the MarineLand MJ so that's why I went for that one.

If you are looking to run GFO in the reactor, I'd recommend some kind of valve so you can adjust flow since GFO requires a slight tumble, adjustments are usually required to get it right. If you run GAC you can just smash it between sponges and crank it up. I use the valve that came with my BRS reactors for 1/2" rigid polyethylene tubing. The hose for the reactor slips right over rigid tube. Any kind of valve you can fit inline should work though. The flow rate will degrade as the pump gets dirty and the media collects detritus so I'd recommend not getting the minimum flow rate so you can adjust between media changes.
