what is up with my lether toadstool?

its doing fine now, but it had that film for about 2 days and it took a little less than a day to "shed"...

any ideas?

oh, it was closed up for about 3 days before it opened and i guess it "grew" that film...

Toadstools close and then shed as they grow. The larger they are the more of a mess they make.
