Anyone got a suggestion to help my zoas. They are inverted and look like umbrellas with nipples and their skirts are shrinking. Actually the zoas seems to have shrunk each day from the start. And there is not reaction when I try to get the to close up with the baster

Too much light maybe, not sure. Do you have any food to spot feed them? with the baster

Are you using bio pellets or any phosphate removal media?

Few times it has happened to me it was a low light issue. The zoa is trying to maximize light exposure surface by turning into an umbrella.

I thought the polyp shrinking was indicative of too much light. I will try raising it.

Yes I am using bio pellets. All other zoas in my tank seem to be doing well. Should I suspend my use of them?

yep most zoas dont like the pellets but other corals love it

If they come out of a system with some nutrient and get put into a LNS this can definitely happen. I've seen it in my tank when I made the mistake of using the full dose of phosphate in a reactor and it stripped the phosphate down too fast. Not all Zoas and palys were effected but some did exactly what you are describing.

Ok. With such a light bio load I cut the amount of beads in my reactor by half and will increase feeding.

The SPS almost entirely encrusted the superglue
The zoa has 2 baby polyps
The lps looks to have good extension. Not sure about the polyp count. I don't recall what I started with.

Had to move the SPS to a frag tank. But it allowed me to take a shot at the encrusting and growth from different angle. The Goni has developed a bunch of baby heads along the bottom as well as inbetween existing polyps. Quite surprised at the growth. I lost a polyp on the armor of God paly. So I only have 5 polyps. I figure im out of that one.
