Anyone know what permits would be necessary for sales and collection?
Found commercial permits here http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/business/licenses/public/commercial/
Guess I could probably give them a call.

What are you thinking about collecting and selling?

I've caught a few tangs, and a few angels. Maybe a few other things. I have a few honey holes. Haven't been to rigs yet, so haven't seen what is available. Thought I saw a few pics. with sun coral and have read that they are in the Gulf. Probably stuff like that.

If you look at the link, certain permits would make it "maybe profitable" from a hobbyist/weekender sort of thing. Maybe I'm just crazy.

The TPWD site is a pain to try to navigate. You would be best off if you did in fact call them to ask about it and to find out where to find those specific resources on the website.

That page was simple to find but I couldn't find any specifics on his topic. Is it just the commercial fishing license? That wouldn't seem right..

Waiting for my call to be returned. Would be sweet if it was just commercial fishing license.

I saw that too but again, marine animals was not mentioned anywhere. Also both exclusion lists given at the bottom were all land based animals. Florida Parks and Wildlife has tons of info on this subject for their state on their site.. TPWD site is vague.

read the part on who needs one,(top of page) two reasons for a need for that permit. he fits the second reason, it pretty simple actually it's either "game" or "nongame" aquatic or not doesn't matter it's an animal.

the only problem I see he may run into is the commercial shrimping license. not sure if it's all shrimp or just the one we eat and use for bait.

What forum? Do you remember the name? Looked all last night, couldn't see anything I thought was from our coast on ARC. I'll ask some questions!

The ad I saw was on arc about a month or so ago . He does it once or twice a year. I'm positive its not through the proper TPWD channels though.
