Umm yeah. It's the same guys. They say in the article that this will be larger than their Austin and Portland projects. I will NOT be supporting this in any way.

I've been to Austin one and it's cheesy, nothing educational, set up like a petco aquatic section

I was thinking it was the same guys too, but is it Portland or Idaho? Or is there a Portland in Idaho?

Its both: Portland, OR and Idaho. We almost went in to the Austin Aquarium. Pulled our car in front and people coming out of the aquarium warned us: you don't want to go in there! Looked pretty ****ty from the outside. And then we checked out the reviews on yelp. Sounds like a sad excuse for an aquarium. And, oh yeah! One of the owners is in jail for illegally transferring protected animals: http://www.austinchronicle.com/daily/news/2013-12-04/austin-aquarium-manager-sent-to-federal-shark-tank/
But as Ammon Covino (owner) puts it: "“Who gives a ****, man?" !

Sounds a bit sketchy. I haven't seen the Austin Aquarium myself, but I will hold my opinion until after I check out the place. As someone pointed out, there are worse tanks in town. The zoo has some pretty bad tanks with fish living in a stressed out environment, but I still go because they have some other exhibits worth checking out. Who knows, they could have only really awesome exhibit that is worth checking out. If they have a Nautilus exhibit, I would love to see that. I haven't seen one since I was kid growing up in California.

Looks like they are taking home at the old Fiesta Dodge dealership...I have mixed feelings about the aquarium. On one hand I'm stoked that their will be an aquarium here in SA. On the other hand we are all familiar with the rap sheet. I would think that a town such as Leon Valley (b/c they are strict with just about everything) did their research regarding the claims made against the aquarium. As we always know their is always more to the story then what we hear and see. Rest assured they will be monitored by regulators.
