Anemone is looking ruff today.

I need some help. My Anemone is looking pretty ruff today. I just tested my water tonight, and I need some advice. Here is the current status of my water.

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5 to 10
KH - Took 13 Drops so around 228
Phosphate - 0 to .025
PH - 8.2 to 8.3

I have attached pictures of what he currently looks like. He is all shriveled up, but was perfectly fine last night and this morning. What is wrong w/ him?

What kind of anemone is that? It's beautiful. Are the issue you're referring to it's mouth? How long have you had it? It looks like it's excreting waste to me but I could be wrong. Also, what brand of test kits is this reading from?

Ritteri Anemone. It just shrunk up like crazy over the past few hrs. Ive had it for 5 days. AP Test Kit.

5 days doesn't seem like much time for an anemone to settle in. A sherman I used to own would do this every 4th day almost like clockwork where it would deflate and poop out its waste, looked bad the first time but after a few weeks noticed it was just it's routine. I wouldn't worry yet per se, but I know you did mention in another thread that this was a new tank. Do you think you could be having some new tank syndrome and the hem isn't responding well? I know ritteri's are on the harder end of anemones to keep but 5 days in my opinion is too short to know if it's not liking where it's at IMO.

Keep an eye on it. New anemone, new tank = hard to keep. Something about new tanks they don't like.
