Welcome back to the "wet" (dark) side. No one is able to stay away forever. We look forward to those pics of yours.

So what do you guys treat your nano's with? Calcium? Iodine? Reef Buffer? Just curious cause a 28 gallon is completely different than a 75 gallon. A 75 Gallon is much more forgiving than these smaller tanks. Any words of wisdom?

Hi Greg. Your tank looks great. Are you currently dosing anything?

I'm dosing ESV IBonic 2 part. It works fine once you find the dosage needed to keep it stable. I also dose Magnesium to keep it around 1300.

In the past I've dosed 2 part. A smart man once told me, if you're adding it to your aquarium, make sure you're testing for it.

If thats all your dosing, how does your Alk, PH, Potassium and magnesium read? Looks like all is well.

Do you have a sump? Or any other equipment like bio pellets or skimmer?

Well if I do not dose, most parameters are lower than they should be and things don't look so great but still live. Even with a weekly water change.

While I'm definitely NOT against dosing, I feel a good quality salt should take care of most nano refers needs. When I did dose 2 part I noticed how such a small amount of chemical could really cause that parameter to swing. Always made me a bit nervous.

Not to play devil's advocate, has anyone trie ceasing their dosing to see if there was a difference in growth?

if your dosing a nano I would be sure to test what your dosing as things in nanos can get out if hand fast

When i first started i was not dosing and simply relied on water changes. Things were not growing and didn't look great.

Now that I dose, everything is healthy, growing and just look much better overall.

But yes, you have to be careful and find the right dosing regimen for your nano. But its not hard to do, you corals will quickly let you know if something is not right.

I have not lost anything either way.

I need some help. My Anemone is looking pretty ruff today. I just tested my water tonight, and I need some advice. Here is the current status of my water.

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5 to 10
KH - Took 13 Drops so around 228
Phosphate - 0 to .025
PH - 8.2 to 8.3

I have attached pictures of what he currently looks like. He is all shriveled up, but was perfectly fine last night and this morning. What is wrong w/ him?

My opinion is that possibly your Alkalinity is higher than recommended. 228 ppm is equivalent to 12.77 dKH. The recommended range is between 7-11 dKH. Also test your Calcium recommended range between 390 and 450.

Salinity, Magnesium, PH and water temperature (maybe a fan or heater stopped working) are others.

It looks like other stuff in tank is okay though...

Man I couldnt keep an anemone alive in any of my tanks until they had been running for 7 or 8 months. That's a nice nem, good luck!

That's exactly what I did a few years ago. Went from a 75G to a nano tank! Now I have a 28G NC and a rimless 12x12x12 Mr. aqua tank. I'm happy! Good luck and welcome!
