I am going to be ordering a retrofit kit from Rapid led and I'm going to choose my own color combo. I really want everything to pop but still grow really well. I have a mix of zoas, shrooms, SPS, lps, a few anemones and a clam coming soon. Here's he color combo I was thinking. Any input or suggestions is greatly appreciated since I know nothing about LEDs, I get 24 in the kit:
1 red, 2 lime, 4 UV, 3 cool white, 3 warm white, 6 royal blue, 2 violet, 1 orange, 2 cyan

Personally I'd get rid of the lime and orange and add to the white and blues.

Yeah what Cory said of even 2 ultraviolet.

Ok lime and orange gone. Are there any colors of led that are a must have for vibrant coral colors?

Orange is needed for reds among other colors, but one is all that is needed. Lime is useless, it only helps us perceive the tank as brighter

some regular blue to widen the lower end of the spectrum.

Should I split the royal blue? Do half royal and half regular?

I would be careful with the UV LED's, I purchased the rapidLED retro kit for my biocube 29 with a 50/50 mix of royal blue and cool white. tank ran great for about 6 months. then I swapped out two whites and two Royal Blues with the UV's and about 1 month later, most of my coral was shrinking and bleaching. I swapped out two of the UV and then 2 weeks later swapped out the other two so I was back to the 50/50 blue/white and everything has started recovering. Not saying this is everyone's experience (in mine, I have noted that no two tanks react the same to lights).

How could one argue with that choice? Congrats on a solid purchase!

BIG thanks to Tony for helping me get her up and running! Right now it's running at 30% intensity....not sure if it's too high or not hight enough as this is my first time with LEDs so Any suggestions are appreciated :)

Thanks!! I'm still playing with it lol. I think I'm going to get ReefLink so I can wirelessly control it. But I LOVE it so far!!
