So I'm currently stuck thinking bout my last and final tang. But before I get to that I'll tell u bout my tank. I currently have 1 queen angelfish 1 one spot foxface(I'm willing to trade him by the way) 1 pink spotted watchman goby 2 Fiji Barberi clownfish 1 yellow belly hippo tang and a purple tang in a 125 gallon tank. All of them are currently cool with each other. My final plan is to add a blue spotted jawfish and another tang. This is where I'm running into trouble I can't decide which tang. I want something that'll make my tank pop. I've been thinkin about 4 but haven't heard a lot of good about them. My thought have been gettin a small sohal, a powder blue, a blonde Naso or an achillies. Please help me choose even if it's not one of those 4 I'm up for ideas. Just make em cool ones.24752

I wouldn't do a sohal, powder blue or an Achilles in that small of a tank. You just hear too many horror stories when they get older. I really like the male blonde naso. If you really wanted one of those three I would try a powder blue or maybe even the poor mans Achilles- the powder brown or goldrim rim. I added my tangs all about the same time to reduce aggression but I won't add anymore now because the new one always gets bullied then when they are stressed they are even more prone to disease which could lead to an outbreak. That's what happened to me about a year ago. So I just decided adding one fish isn't worth putting all my other fish into harms way. Also as you probably know every fish is different so maybe you will get lucky and get a nice Achilles. Who knows?

Forget the tang and go with a malenarus wrasse. I was in the same boat as you a way back and then I got my wrasse and he has quickly become my favorite fish.

Those are all tangs that need big tanks, and they tend to be aggressive. In the following order (worst to best - or least worst): Achilles, Sohol, Powder, Naso.
Had a Sohol and Powder in the same tank Sohol killed it. Along with several other fish. Achilles is not only difficult, but insanely territorial. Current tank has a powder, and so far behaving ok. Big bully on newcomers, though.

Funny thing in my tank-my blue hippo was the boss over the yellow and purple tang. Purples get a bad rap at times but all of mine have been well behaved. Oh the other daythe newer boss, 8 in dejardini, took a swipe at my hand while I was adjusting frags. Lol almost fell off the stool. I would hate to get hit by that barb.
I agree with Bill though. Although sohal would be at the top of the my list as the most aggressive.
Also flyride has a point. No wrasses? Those are my favorite fish. :) I think I have 11 different ones in my tank atm. Those can also be territorial at times so try and add them in small groups if you run into this problem.

+2 on a wrasse or two. I just added another to my system. An Ornate Wrasse. Has a ton of personality and loves flashing anything that moves in and out of the tank.

yea I know all fish are different because my queen angelfish doesnt even eat any of my coral. I have tried the Gold Rimmed tang. the one i got was a lil weird alls he use to do was sit in front of one of my fans and swim all day. so he never ate and ended up getting ick and dying.

I have had a malenarus wrasse. dont really like them because they always be in the sand. I thought mine was in the sand for a long time until i found his body behind my tank.

Please keep in mind the adult size of the blond Naso, Sohal, and the Queen Angel you already have and the width of your tank. A 125 gallon is only 18" wide and all three of those fish can easily get that long, making turning in your aquarium difficult for them. If you want something that pops, look into a whitetail bristletooth tang, vary rare here and very beautiful. Louis at Elegant Reef was able to special order one for a customer and I had the privilege to see it while it was pending pickup :)

You know i have actually been tryin to see where i can get that fish everywhere and I havent had any luck. And suprisingly I have a lot of room in my tank for fish. I wanna get my fish small now because i plan on getting a bigger tank.

Sorry was away for a lil bit but yes i do know these fish will eventually get bigger. I have a plan on getting them small so they will be fine for awhile. I will save up money for a much larger tank and have it set up in a house or my new apartment when i decide to move.

If you have a big tank I allways recommend a yellow eye kole tang. They need a lot of swimming room and a lot of LR to clean.
