Anyone else using a Hydor spinning deflector.

I keep finding it laying on the sand bed. It no longer fits snug on the outlet so the force from the pump is pushing it off.

Did anyone have this issue and figured out a way to get it to fit snug again?

I looked it over very good and no cracks anywhere on the Hydor or outlet it connects to on my JBJ Nanocube.

Thx

No good. Was hoping someone had a quick fix. Teflon tape or something weird.

I used superglue when I had it on my 14 gallon biocube. Mine kept blowing off also. The key to the superglue is to twist the connection together after pushing it in.

I had thought about picking up two of these to use on my nanocube. I'm starting to think that waiting and researching was a better idea. I would think superglue should work. If it's not because you're applying it while it's wet, try draining the level of the tank temporarily.

Why won't he like it? I've had mine for about a year or more and haven't had any issues with it. The problem with putting it on a small tank is there's no fitting that's included that will fit snug on there. I superglued mine when I had it on the 14 gallon biocube and never had a problem with it. Now that it's on the 29 gallon biocube I don't have to superglue it anymore since it fits better. One thing I will say is take it apart maybe once every other month to clean the inside so it keeps functioning well.

I didnt like the way it slows flow. Always made a ditch it in the sand below it and have my splash guard wet most of the time from when it would rotate up...

Then the freeze up.... Seriously had to clean it weekly... I never had a problem with it falling off, but that would of made me throw it out the window instead of adding it to my reef junk drawer.

I used a little electrical tape to make the connector tighter (wrap around the OD of the piece you insert. works great and I have not had any issues chemicals or anything from the tape.
