Hello, I just wanted to give all of you an update on my aquarium. Almost 2 months ago I recieved my NuAlgi trail package and gave it a shot. When I first started my tank was growing hair algae and the water needed a 100% change. Which with 200+ gallons that is not happening.
On Monday I will be dosing it for an 8th time and I can honestly say that I will be dosing this in my aquarium for the rest of its life. My GHA is receding and is only on 1 rock now. And my water is crystal clear. Now I am not a good husband to my aquarium because I only do a 40 gal water change once a month. But honestly if it wasn't for the trace elements I wouldn't need to do a water change now. All of my statistics are spot on, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 0 NITRATES, ext ext. that is huge as my nitrates 3 months ago where on the 30-40s. I will personally say that NuAlgi has given my aquarium back to me and took all the hard work out of it.
The past 3 months the only things I have put into my aquarium is:

Kent PH raise to get 8.2ph in my ato
Larry's reef services - reef frenzy nightly (JJ at Zephyr Aquatics sells this, it is fantastic!)
NuAlgi dose
Kent Lugoli drops
Monthly 40gal water change (instant ocean)
Carbon reactor

I am not running any filters what so ever. The water flows down to my sump where it goes to my Bubble Magus NAC7 then through a huge thing of rock rubble then to chaeto ( which is dying right now because there are no nitrates). More rock, carbon reactor then back up top.

I am blown away with NuAlgi and if you where like me with GHA growing uncontrollably even with 50% water changes then this stuff is a great option. Btw I had cyano growing in my sump that has also cleared up but I am not giving this the credit for that but it may of been involved with the nitrate drop.

Yellow tang, Melanarus wrasse, six line wrasse, cleaner wrasse, 2x chromis, 2x clownfish, firefish, bicolor blenny, lawnmower blenny and a diamond goby. I put in a seaweed sheet every 4 days and I feed LRS nightly.

What are the dosing instructions on this product? I'm curious as to how expensive it is to dose long term.
*Edit I found it. 1 ml per 30 gallons once a week. A 100ml bottle would last me a looong time. I am going to give this a shot!

I dose 6ml every week. But the dosing is supposed to be 1ml per 30 gal.

By the way I only have to clean my glass every 7-10 days. It will be crystal clear for right at 7 days.

Did you have a spike in nitrates or phosphates when you started dosing it? This stuff sounds awesome after reading up on it a bit.

No I have not. But I did have a slight diatom break out but it only lasted like 5 days. And the fluid is sort of brown.

That's awesome! They say it kicks off the "cleaning" process by kick starting a diatom bloom so that sounds right. Where do you purchase it from?

I ordered some to try it out. Getting some slight hair algae even with all the tangs. Don't think it will last too long but I did see they had wholesale sizes.

Sure. I actually just upgraded my phone from the iPhone 5 to a Samsung s5 and this new phone takes amazing pictures and it is WATERPROOF lol. I just need to get this thing figured out and get moved over from iTunes. :)

Interesting. But, I have a problem when someone uses "400x smaller". They OBVIOUSLY aren't scientists. There's no way to be 400 times smaller. Like the toilet paper, there's no way to use 4 times less. Unless I wiped my butt with 2 sheets and you gave me back 8.

Just to add to my comments above. I fail to see how you can continue to dump nutrients into your tank (food), and not export them.

Randy Holmes-Farley pretty much tore them up on RC: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2395144

Week 3 on my biocube and everybody is happy. The water looks clearer than it has in a long time and have 0 nuisance algae other than the occasional bubble. This tank had started showing signs of a slight cyano outbreak on a small section of the sand bed that has disappeared in the last week. The only thing I am doing different is the Nualgi so it must have had something to do with the cyano being vanquished.

Week 2 on my 65 gallon mixed reef. The diatom bloom came and went in a couple of days and the water has cleared nicely. I have had and still do, some small patches of hair algae as well as some cyano in a couple of places on my rock work. My fingers are crossed that the Nualgi wipes them out. Will update soon.

Anyone else have any updates?
