My LEDs got turned up about. 5 points on their slider from my son getting ahold of my phone. My monti has seemed to lose the purple base but still has some pinkish to it and the polyps look a little green. I will snap a pic when lights are on, but my question is: does this stand a chance of coming back? I've turned down the lights and am doing a 5 day acclimation mode on my ai director.

It will regain it's color. The aggravating part is that it takes much longer to regain color than it does to lose it. lol

You might also want to test your water parameters just to make sure it was cuased by the spike in lighting.

Any ideas out there how long it takes for a monti to regain its color after some bleaching?

Most likely...weeks to months. Have you seen any improvement? I noticed it's been about a month since it bleached and there should be a noticeable difference between then and now.

Although montis are some tough sobs. i would say if you don't see improvements in 3 weeks than it might not be coming back. I had a monti get stung horribly about a week and a half ago and was almost completely bleached, but over the past week it has slowly started turning back to its original color.

Polyps are still reactive though. Did your polyps react or did it turn to skeleton ?

If it still has polyp extension then it should color back up. May need to move it to even less light. I'd try a different spot in the tank.
