Question for those of you who dose kalkwasser

Before I broke down my system I was dosing Kalk with a jug and a dosing pump. It would turn on throughout the day and add kalk saturated water for a few seconds and shut off. Now that I have moved and broken down my system, I have also upgraded some aspects, and will be re launching my tank in 2 weeks, (hopefully), once I move to my new house. I have gotten rid of my jug, and have purchased a kalk stirrer, and a single dosing pump to feed that. I am thinking about hooking up the dosing pump to my Reef Keeper Elite, and having it kick on when the PH in my tank drops past 8.2 or so, and shut off when it resumes at 8.3 or so. Can anyone see an issue with dosing in this method? I will also be dosing ALK, CAL, and MAG. Thank you for your help.

I did it that way. However, when the stirrer was getting low on Kalk, it would drain my ATO reservoir into the tank. Now I just run the kalk stirrer inline with my ATO pump.

How did it drain your ATO reservoir into your tank? My stirrer uses airline tubing that I will be putting into my ATO Reservoir, and then attaching it to my Kalk Stirrer, From there I have a line coming out the top hooked up to my dosing pump, and then into my sump. I have never had this hooked up before, so any advice would be helpful.

As the kalk is used, it's potency is reduced. As you're shooting for 8.3 it'll take more water. I had my apex set to turn in at a certain ph then off again like you want yours. It drew from the ATO reservoir.

I hadnt thought of that before, I might be better off just having it set to turn on at different intervals throughtout the day and night

I wouldn't do it controlled by ph probe as ph changes daily due to many things and you can overdose easily. here's a pic of my ph swings and temp. temp is in black, I do not dose anything at the moment got cal and alk.
