Going to try my hand at working with acrylic. Going to make some breeder boxes for brine and opae. I found weld on #4 on amazon but there is a blue container and a red container. Is there a difference in the two? Only thing I've read is that the blue container takes longer to cure.

I use the red one and the pieces cure pretty fast. Still have to let them set over night but even after a couple of minutes the bond is strong.

The full cure on either is the same. The difference is the working time you have. 3 allows a little more time to make minor adjustments

Looks like the blue can takes longer to fully cure. I've only used the red one.

I've only used the blue. And the #16 tube works the same is the can. I have both.

I use the red. One thing that makes it really easy to work with is to take a glass jar, dump in som no 4 and a little acrylic. Once the acrylic dissolves the resulting substance is thicker then the no 4 and super easy to work with

I used Weld-On 3 (red) to build my sump and it worked just fine. You can pick some up from Regal Plastics, I think I recall it being cheaper than what it shows on Amazon...

Awesome. Appreciate the feedback guys. Thank you. I'll have to amazon it from here on island. Regal is a little bit of a drive from here. Ha ha. Would adding shavings to the solution still allow it to have a capillary reaction when sealing joints?
